Dear G4G Colleagues:
This is the first correspondence regarding the next Gathering for Gardner event to be held in Atlanta during the spring of 2010. We look forward to your participation at G4G9 and to your responses to this e-mail with your suggestions and input. Please pre-register by clicking the link on the right
.
The pre-registration is designed to collect your
most recent contact information, your preference regarding conference
dates (Mar 3-7, Mar 10-14, Mar 17-21, Mar 24-28, Apr 14-18), and your
comments for G4G9 in order to help us plan for 2010. An e-mail "bounce"
list will be posted and we ask you to provide corrected e-mails
addresses for anyone shown on the list.
G4G9 will again feature gift exchanges, exhibition and sales rooms, and entertainment. This year we intend to add an on-line registration and payment feature on the website: g4g9.com. On the site, we would like to add your G4G pictures, videos, and a list of participants' URLs; therefore, please e-mail the information you would like to share. We are also attempting to take advantage of the social networking sites such as Facebook to create a group and announce events. My Facebook ID is "searchable" under thomasmrodgers@gmail.com and the group name under Gathering 4 Gardner.
We have received many valid and helpful suggestions for the G4G and we need help and volunteers to implement them. If you have time and are willing, please email Tom Rodgers directly at thomasmrodgers@gmail.com.
Dana Richards, who is writing a biography of Martin Gardner, has agreed to be our chief Historian and Archivist. He needs much help. Dana will be compiling a list of all G4G attendees, talks, exchange gifts, write-ups in newspapers, websites, and the like for each Gathering.
We have organized Gathering 4 Gardner, Inc. ("G4G, inc.") as a 501c3 non-profit company. We plan to seek financial help for G4G, as we move forward into the future. Regarding this, if someone would like to help with grant writing, we need your help.
AK Peters has published many books by G4G participants (see
www.AKPeters.com ). G4G colleagues will receive a 20% discount and please note the discount code “Tribute” when you place an order. The G4G, inc. nor myself receive any remuneration. Below you will find some current titles:
